During the years when I owned my weight-loss clinic in Denver, CO, I found my clients always seemed to struggle with the same issues—emotional eating, poor self-esteem, and low motivation.
I kept getting frustrated with the books and resources on the market, so in 2003, I wrote Life is Hard, Food is Easy, a book that could help my clients overcome these issues.
About a month ago, Peppy died after a very brief illness. She was our sweet cocker spaniel and we loved her so much. She was 11 and ½ years old and she was such a good dog.
My husband and I were devastated and are still feeling sad when we think about her.

One of the guidelines I try to follow consistently is to eat dessert only when it’s “special.” But in spite of my good intentions, I remember a time last year when I did NOT do this.
