Need a motivation boost?

Motivation affects everything!

From staying on your diet to cleaning your house, it provides the power behind your actions and helps you follow through with your good intentions.

When your motivation is high, you feel energized, driven, focused, and determined. Nothing gets in your way and you sail through your day, pleased with yourself and your actions.

In fact, once you’re motivated, you can do anything, even if you hate it. You jump into action and clean the house, exercise or write an email to a friend. None of this seems like a problem, you just do it.

Those lines are from the beginning of my free ebook, “5 Easy Ways to Revive Your Motivation and Keep it Going.”

Many of you have already downloaded this ebook. But in case you haven’t done that or you need a reminder of the content, here is a direct link to it. Motivation ebook

Feeling overwhelmed?

One of my favorite stories in this ebook is the one about Sherry who needed to lose 150 pounds.

I still remember the first time she came to my weight-loss clinic. She had a lot of health issues and was very discouraged with her current situation.

As she sat in my office, Sherry started to cry and she said, “Losing that much weight feels overwhelming and I don’t think I can do it.” After we talked a while, I suggested she try using “mini-goals.”

Then I asked her, “Sherry, do you think you could lose 25 pounds?” She sighed and responded, “Yes, I think I could do that.”

So together we worked on her program and made a meal plan that she felt she could live with. Two months later, her weight was down 25 pounds.

On that day, I asked her, “Do you think you could lose another 25 pounds?” She answered, “Yes, I think I could do that.” And she did.

Sherry repeated her mini goal of losing 25 pounds over and over, and at the end of two years, she had lost 150 pounds.

She was so happy to have reached that goal, and she said, “I was so afraid to try losing that much and I didn’t think I could do it. But when I knew I only had to lose 25 pounds, I felt like it was possible!”

Mini-goals work

I hope Sherry’s story inspires you today. Whether you want to lose a little or a lot, break your big goal down into smaller, mini-goals.

I think you will find that using mini-goals will boost your motivation level and help you feel confident you can reach them.
